Our driver will meet you at your hotel in Samarkand to begin your journey to the Langar settlement. As you travel through a scenic canyon and rolling hills, the village of Langar will come into view, its traditional clay homes nestled against the hillside. On a nearby hilltop stands the 500-year-old mausoleum of Muhammad Sodiq, a revered spiritual site. The village is also home to a 400-year-old mosque, offering a glimpse into a bygone era where time seems to stand still.
During your visit, you can enjoy a local lunch at a nearby café. After exploring Langar-Ota, you will continue to Shakhrisabz to visit the Ak-Saray Palace. This grand structure is surrounded by intriguing legends. One tale tells of Timur instructing an architect to build a magnificent palace. To test Timur’s commitment, the architect mixed gold with clay in full view of the ruler while laying the foundation. When questioned, he responded, 'To measure your resolve for a project demanding such vast resources.' Though only majestic ruins remain today, they still convey the scale and ambition of Timur’s vision.
After a full day of exploration, our driver will return you to your hotel in Samarkand, concluding the Langar-Ota & Shakhrisabz Day Trip.
